Lesson Options for Children
All lessons incorporate elements of basic horse care, understanding of horse psychology, developing self-awareness, ground working skills and ridden skills (if the rider's confidence allows). Children learn these skills though verbal teaching, play opportunities and fun games. Please take the time to read our Philosophy page so you can get a feel for what lesson experience with us is like.
Preschool - for children wanting to learn basic handling, grooming, catching and riding on the lead. Parents must stay for lesson. Small helmet sizes available. Appropriate footwear to be worn. 45 minute lesson.
Beginner - for children with limited or no riding experience. Learn the basics as above and develop confidence to ride alone.
Intermediate - for children with some experience and a developing knowledge of horse riding and behaviour. 1 hour lesson.
Advanced - specific lessons, tailored to that child's next step of mastery. Time and price to be decided depending on the child.
I can travel to you with your pony for any of the lesson options above (some travel charges may apply). Can also travel to you with my ponies too.
Liberty lesson with Jewel.
Clinic Options for Children
There is so much more to horses and ponies, than just riding. I specialise in teaching not only riding, but horsemanship too.
Horsemanship is like a big overarching umbrella, under which comes all of the things you need to do, think and learn to be really good with horses. Sometimes the best way to learn this is in a group setting, for a longer period of time, such as in a clinic setting.
Our clinics are as unique and individual as the children participating, so please contact us directly if you are interested in hosting or attending one of our Children's Clinics.
